Dear Parents/Guardians of 7th graders,
Montana state law requires all seventh grade students to show proof of having received one dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccine before attending school in the Fall. Tdap vaccine is considered a booster to the DTaP vaccine that is required before Kindergarten. Without proper documentation of required vaccinations or a valid medical or religious exemption, students will not be allowed to attend school.
We want to remind you to get your child’s vaccination early - before summer plans and busy back-to-school season. Tdap can be given to children ages 11-12. Please contact your healthcare provider or local health department to schedule an appointment. The breakdown of immunization requirements can be found on our website by clicking Menu>>Documents>> Our District>>Health Services>>Medical Forms.
Please email florencenurse@florence.k12.mt.us or bring a completed record to Florence-Carlton school prior to your child beginning their seventh grade year. Note that exemption forms (medical or religious) must be filled out annually. These are located on our school website as well (see above location).
Thank you for protecting our community and keeping your child immunized and free from vaccine-preventable diseases. Reach out if questions arise.
Best wishes,
Julie Shepp, RN, BSN
